The David Stauffer Scholarship, administered by the Tennessee Home Builders Foundation through the Home Builders Association of Tennessee (HBAT), is now accepting applications.

This achievement-based, matching-funds scholarship is available to qualified Tennessee students who are enrolled in — or planning to enroll in — a one-year, two-year, four-year, or certificate program in a construction-related field of study.

Local Matching Opportunity Through HBAGC

In addition to the statewide award, the Home Builders Association of Greater Chattanooga (HBAGC) provides local matching funds for sponsored students. This means eligible students in our region may receive even greater financial support to help pursue their education in the building industry.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

• Have a minimum 2.5 GPA

• Be enrolled in (or have applied to) a construction-related program

• Submit a fully completed and signed application (no blanks)

• Include all required transcripts and supporting documentation

• Complete the required essay

• Secure sponsorship from a local Home Builders Association affiliate

Deadline

The final deadline for submission to HBAT is March 31, 2026. Students should confirm any earlier local deadlines with their sponsoring HBA.
